It was Mom who introduced me to the books featuring Lincoln Rhyme, "The Coffin Dancer" and "The Bone Collector". Mom says this new one is the best yet. If you saw the movie "Bone Collector" and didn't like it, don't worry. This is one of those cases where the book is much better!

I think she forgot to enclose the clipping on this one but she mentioned in her note that this book looked interesting. I had already read a

Don't Ask for the Dead Man's Golf Clubs
Non-Fiction
1999
Kelly Communications Paperback
My mom and I had to deal with distribution and sale of some of my dad's "stuff" last year after he died. Mom had to do most of it. Most people she dealt with were nice, and sensitive. No one asked for the clubs. It was much as I imagine will happen when I die; everyone left behind to deal with my "stuff" will keep saying to the others, "No, you keep it!", and nothing will ever get resolved.
This book, subtitled "Advice for Friends When Someone Dies", is a guide on what to do or not do, say or not say, to friends suffering from losses to death from suicide to murder, miscarriage to stillbirth.
I'm not sure exactly what the intended audience for this book is, besides everyone, but it sounds to me like it might be good for someone who is around death and dying people as part of their jobs in hospitals or nursing facilities, as counselors, or anyone dealing with the public.
Another great resource on this subject is the book
On Death and Dying.
The clipping she sent was from the Akron Beacon Journal, 7-10-00, p. B9.
