This book explores the reasons for the right wing swing in the voting practices of middle class, as well as how this affects the rights of working Americans. It's a fascinating tale of how a political party has marketed itself in such a way as to turn voters into pawns in a game where the winners symbolize the outcome of a "very expensive poll", with politicians using issues that will never be resolved to polarize the voters.
The author is a native Kansan. He gives a very readable account of the history of change that mirrors what's been going on in the whole country. This is a must read!
